In this episode our founder Nour Hassan speaks to Deanna Marsigliese, Canadian born Animation Art Director and Illustrator living in San Francisco, CA.

Specializing in storytelling through character design, Deanna has worked at Pixar Animation Studios since 2012. Her credits include Soul (2020), Onward (2020), Toy Story 4 (2019), Incredibles 2 (2018), Bao (2018), Inside Out (2015) & The Good Dinosaur (2013), and Luca 2021.

Past clients include Laika, Sony Pictures, Universal Feature, Walt Disney Feature, Reel FX, Disney TV, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network & PBS Kids, among others.

Deanna delivers panel talks & leads workshops world-wide, having been hosted by SXSW, D23, ILM, Leaders London, CTNX & The Walt Disney Family Museum. I met Deanna at Abdeen Palace in Cairo for an event by Lebanese Fashion Designer Elie Saab, hosted by EMAAR. She was in Cairo giving the closing talk at Rise Up Summit hosted at the Great Pyramids of Giza Plateau.

We speak about harnessing the creative spark, the importance of walks, taking in life, sketching daily, how to turn your passion into your job and why Deanna is a lover and advocate for all things vintage clothing.
